Josephine Ngong-Tawe, O.D.

Josephine Ngong-Tawe, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1999 and earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. She later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Florida A&M University, where her research on diabetic neuropathy and retinopathy inspired her passion for eye care.

Dr. Ngong-Tawe completed internships at community health centers in Boston, the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Lowell, Lahey Clinic, and Omni Eye Services in New Jersey, gaining extensive experience in managing glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, hypertension-related eye conditions, and co-managing cataract and laser surgeries.

Practicing in New Jersey since 2000, she combines her background as a scientist and clinician to provide comprehensive, compassionate eye care. She specializes in glaucoma and diabetes-related eye disease, as well as dry eye, allergies, and vision correction.

Dr. Ngong-Tawe is a member of the Mid-Jersey Optometric Society, the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association, and the National Optometric Association. Outside of work, she enjoys music, jogging, yoga, and spending time with her husband and three children, and serves as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at her church.
